Dr. David Cyzak, Assistant Professor of Oboe & Music Technology at Middle Tennessee State University, will be at A-State September 12th and 13th to present a guest master class to the students of the A-State Double Reed Studio as well as a special presentation to the Performing Arts Experience class titled "The Edge of Impossibility Exploring Instrumental and Vocal Virtuosity." The master class is scheduled for Monday, September 12 at 6:00 pm in Fine Arts Center Recital Hall and is open to the public. His presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13 at 11:00 am in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.
Dr. Cyzak describes his presentation by saying: "Some composer seek to elevate virtuosity, while others redefine and break the concept. In this presentation, Dr. Cyzak (*see-zak) will demonstrate the combination of advanced instrumental, vocal, and respiratory techniques to establish a foundation of historical developments. Expanding your perception on this topic will help empower you to forge your path as a member of the 21st-century landscape of music, organized sound, and music technology."

On Thursday, April 1, 2021 Lindsay Flowers, Faculty Associate of Oboe at University of Wisconsin-Madison, will be at A-State to present a guest master class to the students of the A-State Oboe Studio. The class begins at 11:00 am via Zoom and is open to the public.
On Thursday, November 5, 2020 Andrew W. Parker, Assistant Professor of Oboe at Oklahoma State University, will be at A-State to present a guest master class to the students of the oboe studio. The class begins at 11:00 am via Zoom and is open to the public.
World famous oboist, Bert Lucarelli, is headed (virtually) to A-State to present a master class for the oboe studio on Thursday, October 1 at 11:00 am (Central). Lucarelli, America's first "oboe soloist," has taught throughout the New York metropolitan area for over 60 years. Many of his students hold performing and teaching positions across the globe.
The master class will take place via Zoom and is open to the public. On Sunday, March 8, 2020 Ian Wisekal, Adjunct Professor of Oboe at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, will be at A-State to present a guest master class to the students of the oboe studio. The class begins at 10:00 am in the Fine Arts Recital Hall and is open to the public.
On Sunday, November 17, 2020 Dr. Rebecca Mindock, Associate Professor of Double Reeds at the University of South Alabama will present a guest master class for the oboe studio at A-State. The master class begins at 1:30 pm in the Fine Arts Recital Hall. Immediately following, she will present a recital at 3:00 pm. Both events are open to the public.
